About

ACaDeMiK is an acronym of my full name. I am the product of monocultural parents traveling abroad. Much of their culture still rests with me. I am yin and yang - quiet and loud - tall and skinny - thoughtful and brash - goofy and genuine. I am the fully domesticated realization of a thousand thoughts and dreams constantly struggling to obtain access to my brain. I am The Roots, The Bravery, The Departure, The Knife and The Cure, The Clash, and The Rapture. I am the Sea and Cake. I am a drawing, a photograph, a canvas that is consistently dynamic. I am perfectly me, and constantly striving to perfect who I am meant to be.

The perfection of self - the duality of eventually realizing who we are meant to become in the future and the acceptance of our current selves as our perfect state for a particular moment. In life there are ideas, thoughts, emotions, words, movements, and actions - which of these are you? An action is the ultimate unification of all - the birth of an idea, the thought to accomplish it, the emotion to compel you to achieve it, the words to speak it, the movements to do it with purpose.

In the grand scheme of things we are but a simple movement of the body of the universe; a twitching, a squeeze, or a shake.

Imagine if we could each be an action instead of a simple movement. Imagine if we could, with determination and will, grasp our place in the universe and become in complete harmony with it. I know by now that is not the will of myself that has gotten me thus far.

Or even better, imagine that you had such a group of friends that composed not only an action, but a symphony of motion that changed the universe.

Be an action, not just a movement.

You might be absolutely and undeniable brilliant. I apologize for not seeing that in you when we visited this past summer. I wish I would have more of an opportunity to talk with you while you were still here but perhaps, if I’m luck, I’ll get the chance later on in ours lives.

yo! dont let go of finding the greatness within–spread it around–the best way to become more of yourself is to keep believing in your greatness and seeking it . when others do not understand it or think your weird for it realize that most of us live in a world of tunnel vision. if you do what i did (turned into a shell when i was at my peak of great self discovery-because i had no one to share it with) i felt like one of the old “Masters”of art and words –undiscovered and almost like a freak. but when you turn away from it, the greatness will turn away from you because you lost your greatest companion wich is your spirit coming alive to greet you with every breath, every raindrop that falls upon your skin, every sound every sunny day and is always there for you to express your deep innerself and sometimes face your darksides. all to become wise, be intouch with the veins in life that inspire you and to become greater every moment your heart beats and your lungs breath. you know–buddism may be something you can also learn from. you dont have to worship it but i think you and the budist culture have the same sort of passion although maybe different directions… maybe. you are gifted, dont lose that. once you do you will never be inspired the same again. so grow bro!
